Terms & Conditions for IT Repair Services.

By contacting Home IT Service, you are agreeing to the IT service terms & conditions outlined below.

  1. By contacting us verbally or by e-communications i.e. email, messenger or text, you agree to all our IT/Computer repair services.
  2. A minimum charge of £40.00 applies to all jobs accepted, whether repairs are completed or not.
  3. On-site visits will incur a call-out charge of £30.00, and a hourly rate of £40.00 per hour.
  4. On-site visits are within 1 mile or 3 kilometers of M20 2BG
  5. Any call out service or appointment reneged upon by the customer without clear notice will incur an automatic charge £40.00. (cancellation notice must be given by directly contact i.e. telephone, cancellation must be made 4 hours before the agreed appoinment time).
  6. Proof of ownership maybe required, if sensitive information is accessed or backups made.
  7. All clients are advised to make a backup of the computer before bringing any equipment in to us. All repair services are carried out on our premises.
  8. Cancellation of any agreed repair service or computer health check will incur a charge of £40.00 diagnostic fee.
  9. Payment must be made within 7 days of job completion or return of equipment. We reserve the right to claim statutory interest (at 8 per cent over the current Bank of England base rate) and compensation for recovery costs under late payment legislation if money owed is not received by the agreed date and under the agreed terms
  10. We reserve the right not to return equipment if you fail to produce valid proof of ownership, receipt or other proof of ownership, and/or refuse to pay for work carried out, parts sourced or completed satisfactorily or not.
  11. All repairs are covered by our 7 day return to base guarantee. Which means if the same fault re-occurs within a short time period (normally 7 days) and you may return the equipment in question to us, we will happily reinvestigate the problem, crediting any previous labour charged towards the cost of re- investigating the problem. Where the reinvestigation charges exceed previous charges, we reserve the right to invoice the difference.
  12. All parts supplied are covered by our 30 day warranty and thereafter the standard manufacturer’s warranty may apply.
  13. We do not accept any liability for data or software lose, corrupted, deleted or altered during the repair process; we therefore recommend that any data is adequately backed up by you prior to us commencing work on your equipment. Home IT Service may backup your data prior to commencing work for an additional charge. All personal data must be backed-up by the client before any work commences.
  14. We reserve the right to refuse software installation we suspect to be illegal, counterfeit or incorrectly licensed. We will be unable to install licensed software without a valid licence key. Your data may be copied and stored on our backup devices at times, and we reserve the right to contact relevant authorities should illegal files or activity be identified on your equipment.
  15. Phone calls and conversations may be recorded for training, legal or confirmation purposes.
  16. Equipment not collected within 14 days of job completion will incur a daily storage charge of £5 per day, and after 30 days we will assume you no longer require or wish to collect your equipment therefore will disposed accordingly. If we intend to dispose of your goods in this way you will be informed in writing beforehand. Any funds received will be used to recover costs and/or any outstanding invoices owed by you. Should there be any funds remaining after disposel or charged incured, they will be refunded to you at the address provided on your equipment receipt. Any goods not collected after 180 days will be disposed of regardless of ownership. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice and do not affect your statutory rights.
